Glacier Farm Aviary
Welcome to Glacier Farm Aviary
I have been owned by birds since 1982. I raised canaries until 1995, when I purchased my first parrotlet,
Mr. Green Jeans. I was hooked on the little green package of personality. The lineolateds worked their way into my heart a few years ago, and I am presently owned by both Pacific Parrotlets and Linnies. I enjoy raising fellow companions and family members for people. It truly brings me joy when I get phone calls or emails weeks later telling me how much they love their new addition. The birds have opened up many avenues in my life. The great friends I have met showing my birds have broadened my horizons to many levels. I have met certification requirements of the Pet Industry Joint Advisory Council (PIJAC) as a Certified Avian Specialist (C.A.S.) . Glacier Farm is devoted to breeding great healthy birds for showing , breeding and adopting them to loving, caring and committed households. We will be here to help you , long after you get your bird home.
Babies
All of my babies are raised in the Bird Room, which is located next to our living room, for the proper socialization with the family. They are all closed banded with SPBE bands. They are handfed and well socialized. This will allow for your birds to be able to be identified, located if lost, and collect show points. It is the birdie version of being micro-chipped. Babies will be sold once they are fully weaned and eating on their own . Babies are first weaned onto my fresh food mixture, before adding seed to their diet. Fresh food is the primary source of their meals!! It is best to let the baby bird pick you out, as I believe you will get the best bonding with your new birds. So try to come with an open mind to both sexes. Babies will go home with a Hatch Certificate, and a folder of bird information. DNA sexing is available for linnies which is represented in their price if listed as male or female, otherwise there is a sexing fee of $20.
Waiting List is Available-as availability of birds is dependant upon productivity of the breeders. I do maintain a waiting list for future adoption. Check out the Babies for Sale section. A deposit is required to put a hold on your choice of bird. What this means is that when the babies are sexed and /or feathering out, and colors are known, you will be asked to select which baby will be coming home with you when he or she is fully weaned. I will go by order of when the deposits were received when it is known what is available for adoption. Once you have made your choice, the refund is non-refundable and full payment is due a 2 weeks before the baby is picked up, if payment is check or money order.
Shipping is available on occasion. I will only ship where I feel comfortable that the schedules will keep the stress and travel time of your new baby are at a minimum. Shipping is at new owner’s expense.
